All About Chew was founded by Yasmin Soh, who began her journey to establish the brand with an obsession
for baking classic desserts, from apple pies to brownies. After perfecting her version of a chocolate
chip cookie, Yasmin was besieged by requests from friends and family for her creations and thus turned it
into a full-fledged business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For Yasmin, the Klang Valley baked goods scene is both diverse and vibrant, with many bakers pushing
boundaries and introducing novel flavours and techniques. As the scene has evolved, Yasmin has found
that there is now not just an appreciation for the product but also the entire experience surrounding it.
Today, All About Chew serves a range of cookies that are designed to make patrons feel a sense of comfort,
warmth, and nostalgia with every bite. Their signature cookie is the Chewibacca, a thin and chewy treat
encrusted with dark chocolate chips and sea salt. For customers that are seeking a middle ground between
crunchy and chewy, the outlet bakes the Big Ass Chocolate Softy cookie, which has a hard exterior and soft,
dense centre. Other offerings from All About Chew include the Blackout cookie, made with a double dose of
chocolate, the Matcha cookie, which is created using Neko Neko Yuri matcha powder, the Valrhona cookie which
tastes of caramelised white chocolate, and the Raspberry Softy, which has a crispy exterior and a dense and
soft centre and is made of a mix of white and milk chocolate with raspberries.
Customers that are in need of a brownie fix instead are also welcome to visit All About Chew, which
serves fudgy and dense brownies: classic Brunettes created with Valrhona cocoa powder, and Betty
Blondies which are made with chunks of dark and milk chocolates.
The All About Chew outlet is located at the main entrance of the Ground Floor of The Fifth Place
(Block A) at The Five. Yasmin says she was drawn to open the store there because of The Five’s cool
and youthful energy, which resonates with the brand. “It’s great to watch people enjoying our cookies
while sitting in the shaded areas outside on their coffee breaks - a few moments of sweet enjoyment
before they get back to their busy days.”
