Explore The Passages of Time With Here & Now

When stepping into modern tiki cocktail bar Here & Now, one immediately understands the two concepts behind this establishment – cherishing the present moment, and realising that time is the most precious asset in our lives.

Located at Block E Level 3 of The Five, Here & Now’s ethos is present in every detail of its interior. The bar’s furniture features modern yet comfortable high stools as well as low and cushy chairs, giving guests the option to choose the type of setting that suits their party and purpose. Additionally, subtle lighting, neutral tones, and clean lines throughout the space of the bar immediately conjure up a sense of calm and tranquillity, while the quirky caveman-inspired art on the walls – which lend the space a fun vibe as well as a contemporary twist – were created by local studio Misorama, helmed by Dianne Tahir-min.

As for the menu at Here & Now, guests are in the capable hands of Affie Adut, Director and Co-Founder of the bar. His impressive credentials include being the Bacardi Legacy Malaysia winner in 2018, the first runner-up in the Southeast Asia Bacardi Legacy competition, and the winner of the Amaro Di Angostura Versus cocktail competition in that same year. Here & Now’s cocktail menu was created by Adut, and plays with the notion of time.

When opening the menu, patrons will see that it is split into three sections – the past nostalgia (with classic cocktails such as the Daiquiri and Junglebird), the present day (the same cocktails but with a creative twist), and the future unexplored (deconstructed and revolutionary versions of today’s cocktails). To fully embrace the path Here & Now recommends for a good night out, patrons are encouraged to first select a classic cocktail from the past, before moving on to sample the present and future menus.

Here & Now also strives to give its patrons a drinking experience beyond the ordinary with unique and exciting promotions. On Tuesdays, patrons can get 10% of their total bill, while Wednesdays see the bar promoting their “bring your own glass” sessions, which involve free refills of their favourite drinks (up to 400ml); on Thursdays, customers can take advantage of Here & Now’s haus draft promotion, which runs from 5 PM to 9 PM. Finally, on Sundays Here & Now taps into the notion of ending the weekend on a good note with the offer of free-flow on the haus draft from 5 to 8 pm.

Music also forms the cornerstone of the bar’s offerings, with DJ sessions running from Tuesdays to Saturdays; guests can jam out to house, hip hop and R&B, as well as funk music from some of KL’s best and brightest spin masters – the lineup includes Marc Tanner, Victor Trixter, Random Kid, Jun the Kid, Choobs, Daaliah, Gracie, and Hera. Additionally, expect monthly events from Here & Now, such as the one being held on Merdeka Eve themed, “Good Night KL x Here & Now”. The event will see the concoction of creative cocktails infused with Jameson whiskey and DJ sets by the likes of Aidaho, Daaliah, Hangriii, and Naufal.

Here in the Klang Valley, it may seem we are spoiled with a variety of bars, cafes, and new restaurant concepts, all offering a different experience through their food and drinks. At The Five, however, Here & Now takes you beyond your usual night out to offer a novel journey, one that transcends time and invites you to explore the past, present, and future.
